Kilimanjaro Childlight Foundation (KCF) is a non-governmental organization working to improve the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable children in Tanzania. The foundation assists children who live in poverty and are unable to receive proper education and health services. KCF’s community outreach projects strive to improve the lives of Tanzania’s children by providing them with proper clothing, nourishment, education, and medical care. What do you most like about living in Moshi?

The surroundings are amazing and even the people that I surround myself are self-made, thus I learn a lot from them.

How long have you been working for Kilimanjaro Heroes and what got you involved?  

I have been working for Kili Heroes for five consecutive years.  What got me involved with Kili Heroes is the urge for a change in my society and the passion to become among the individuals dealing with the tourism industry.  I always had dreams to fulfill and help the children via charity but also to be able to help society while generating my day to day income through the tourism industry. Who is your most memorable climber and why?  

My most memorable climber is David Hofmeijer Merkelj. Who apart from completing his campaign of climbing the mountain but also helped us in a major way.

What’s your strangest mountain moment?  

The strangest mountain moment was that of a strong wind that was blowing hard as we were on the struggle to reach the peak.  The wind almost blew the branches of trees and it was a bit scary!

Who is your favorite local band or singer that will help us discover Moshi like a local?  

My favorite local band Yamoto, check out their facebook page to see where and when they are playing!  Also Diamond Platinums from (WCB) Wasafi Records.

Where is your favorite local place to eat that will help us discover Moshi as a local?  

My favorite local eating place is Glaciers since their foods and beverages are just so exquisite.

Where is your favorite local place to drink that will help us discover Moshi as a local?  

My favorite local place to drink is also Glaciers since they also have a variety of all drinks.

Where is your favorite local place to dance that will help us discover Moshi as a local?  

My favorite local place to dance is still Glaciers with the fact that they have cool DJ & music jams, but even their music bumps loud and there is also the meeting of new people all the time; thus it tends to be a good place to network with all sorts of individuals.

Where in the world would you most like to travel?  

I would like to travel to France so as I could also get to visit the Eiffel Tower.

Do you have a nickname? What is it and why?  

Yes, I do have a nickname and that’s Frah’ coming from my actual name ‘Frank’ having omitted the n and k at the end.

What do you like to do in your spare time?  

In my spare time, I like reading novels mostly fictional ones but I also tend to visit close relatives, meeting people and exchanging ideas, spare time with the orphans’ during my holidays and lastly listening to music and watch movies occasionally.

What does the perfect day look like?  

A perfect day is one that I work up early in the morning, healthy and fit get ready and hit the road executing my day then at the end go back home and spend time with my loved ones.

What 3 words would your friends use to describe you?  

Ambitious, Heroic and Amusing.

Who would be your top 3 dinner party guests?  

My girlfriend, my coworker and any random person in particular.

What would be your on superpower?  

Foretell the future.

If you could only keep 3 possessions what would they be?  

A pen, my phone, and my wallet.
